Its name means southern thief. It was the largest known dromaeosaurid (small to medium-sized feathery carnivores, where the famous Velociraptor is found). It was a two-footed hunting dinosaur which, due to its proportions and anatomical characteristics, is more similar to the popular representation of the Velociraptor.
