Its name means double beam. It was one of the longest land animals in history. Its front legs were shorter than its hind legs. Research studies suggest that it used a feeding strategy called unilateral branch defoliation: while holding a branch between its peg-like teeth, it jerked its head up or down in order to pull off the foliage.
