Its name means Utah thief. It was, together with the South American Austroraptor, the largest of the Dromaeosaurids (small to medium-sized feathery carnivores, where the famous Velociraptor is found). It was a bipedal hunter that had a 30cm-long sickle-shaped nail on its second toe. Its lifestyle and hunting was very similar to that of the velociraptor, although it lived in more wooded areas and therefore must have been slower.
