How to make a dinosaur costume for the little ones

🦖 Become a dinosaur with this easy and fun craft! 🎭

If your little one loves dinosaurs, this craft will fascinate him. Today we show you how to make a DIY dinosaur costume, perfect for Carnival, costume parties or just to play and let your imagination run wild. 🦕✨

This costume is easy to make, inexpensive and, best of all, customizable. Do you want a T-Rex? a Triceratops? a dinosaur invented by you? Anything is possible!

🎨 Materials needed

Before you start, make sure you have everything you need:

  • Cardboard (for the base of the costume)
  • ✅ A pencil (to draw the shapes).
  • Cutter and scissors (to cut out the pieces)
  • Coloring or spray paint (to decorate your dinosaur)
  • ✅ Hot melt glue (to join parts)
  • Velcro (for easy donning of the costume)

🛠️ Step by step to create your dinosaur costume

1.

Design your dinosaur

Before cutting, think about the type of dinosaur you want to make. You can draw your own design or follow our model. If you need more time, pause the video and continue at your own pace!

Draw the pieces on the cardboard

With a pencil, draw all the parts of the head: the base, the jaw and details such as teeth and eyes.

3.

Carefully cut

Use the scissors for the simplest parts and the box cutter for the most precise cuts. If you are small, ask an adult for help.

4.

Glue the structure

Using hot melt glue, join all the pieces of the head together. Press well and let it dry for a few minutes.

5.

Add color!

We have used sprays for a more realistic finish, but you can use acrylic paints, markers or whatever you prefer. Give your costume personality!

Final touches

Add Velcro to make the costume easy to put on and take off. You can also use the string for more detail or to hold the design in place.
