Excavar Fósiles con Niños | Dinosaurland

It’s time to dig! Participate in our fossil digging activity.

Can you imagine feeling like a real paleontologist, brush in hand, digging up dinosaur remains under the Mallorcan sun? In Dinosaurland this is not just a fantasy: it is an adventure that awaits you every day!

A space for little explorers

Within our theme park, the little ones (and not so little ones) can become researchers of the past in our excavation areas. We have two areas specially designed for children to dig, explore and discover as if they were on a real paleontological mission.

One of the public’s favorites is the Tyrannosaurus rex excavation area, where a replica of its impressive skeleton is hidden under the sand. Equipped with shovels and brushes, the little paleontologists must work as a team to uncover each bone. There is no time limit, just excitement and a great desire to discover.

In the other area, the challenge changes: a freer excavation where they can let their imagination run wild and dig to their heart’s content! Both areas are designed for children to play, touch and learn in a safe and unhurried environment.

Much more than playing with sand

Although at first glance it may seem like just a game, these activities are designed with an educational and sensory focus. While digging, children:

  • They develop coordination and concentration.
  • They learn about the work of paleontologists.
  • They connect with the history of the Earth in a playful way.
  • And above all… they have a lot of fun!

The experience is completely free and does not require prior reservation. Simply enter the park, find the excavation areas and get ready for an adventure that mixes science and fun.

What if they wanted to find real fossils?

After this activity, many children leave the park asking if they can look for real fossils. And the passion for dinosaurs usually starts with a game. So, if you are still wondering where you can see footprints or find real fossils in Spain, we recommend you to read our article “Where to find real dinosaur fossils in Spain”.

There we tell you all about the most important sites in the country, how to visit them and what types of dinosaurs have been found in each area.

A must stop at Dinosaurland

So now you know: if you come to Dinosaurland with children, the excavation area is a must. It’s free with park admission, is suitable for all ages, and guarantees laughs, discoveries and a surprise or two under the sand.

Don’t forget to take pictures of the “discovery” and share them with us on networks! 📸
