Make your own Paper Dinosaur!

Hello, little artists and dinosaur explorers!

Today we’re going to create something amazing that will make you feel like a paleontologist in search of fossils… and it’s easier than it looks! We’re going to make some fun 3D dinosaurs that you can use to decorate your room or build your own Jurassic world!

Materials needed

For this craft, you only need a few things that you probably have at home:

  • Print the enclosed cards with our fun designs on a poster board, or if you prefer, you can create your own dinosaurs.
  • A permanent marker (to better mark the outlines of the dinos).
  • Your favorite colors (colors, markers or whatever you like to give life to your prehistoric creatures).
  • A pair of scissors (be careful with the fingers, dinosaurs do not regenerate hands!).
  • Glue stick (to join the parts and supports of our dinos).

Step-by-step: getting down to work

1.

Let’s calculate the design!

Glue your design to a window and trace the back of the dinosaur so the lines look super clear. This will help you make the next step a total success! 🦕🦖

2.

Color, color and more color!

Let your imagination run wild and give your dinosaurs those colors you think they would look great in! How about a purple T-Rex with green spots? Or a rainbow Triceratops? Anything goes in the world of creativity!

3.

Let’s cut!

Cut out your drawing carefully, following the lines. Remember that if you go a little bit off, it’s okay… all dinosaurs had unique shapes!

4.

Let’s hit!

Now, take the glue stick and glue the back of the palm tree stand. Press well so that it is super firm and stands upright, as if it were a giant Cretaceous tree.

5.

Time to ride!

Make the incisions indicated in the template and assemble the pieces very carefully. If any part doesn’t stay in place, a little extra glue and you’re done!

6.

Give it the finishing touch!

Add details with your permanent marker. Stripes, dots, whatever you like! This way, your dinosaurs will have that personality that will make them unique and special.

7.

Let’s play!

And now you have your own dinosaurs ready to decorate or create Jurassic adventures in any corner! If you’re feeling brave, set up a complete jungle with all your designs and enjoy prehistory at home!
